Puerto del Carmen : This is the main beach in Lanzarote and runs alongside the resort.

Playa Chica : Adjacent to Puerto del Carmen, this beach is beautiful and good for its choice of sporting activities such as diving, parasailling or renting jet skiis.

Papagayo : This is a lovely white sandy beach near the popular beach of Playa Blanca.

Costa Teguise : This beach is in the northeast of Lanzarote and is one of the most popular resorts on the island. The main beach here is Las Cucharas and is well known for its windsurfing.

El Reducto : Located in the capital, Arrecife, this is a wide stretch of golden sand.

Arrecife : Although the capital of the island, Arrecife is not only popular for city breaks, but also beach holidays as it has a wide stretch of golden sand. You will also find a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as places to walk, parks and a good nightlife.

Costa Calero : You may have known this in the past as Puerto Calero, and it still has a beautiful marina and although one of the smaller resorts, it has some great hotels as well as a selection of restaurants alongside the quay.

Costa Teguise : Located north of the capital, Costa Teguise is a modern resort and popular with holidaymakers due to its pedestrialised areas, lovely beach area and choice of bars, restaurants and hotels.

Playa Blanca : Located in the south of Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is known for its wonderful pedestrianised promenade which runs parallel to the beaches in the resort.

Puerto del Carmen : Probably the busiest of all the resort on the island with holidaymakers. You will find an excellent selection of bars and restaurants in the resort as well as wonderful hotels and self-catering apartment complexes.

Getting Around Lanzarote

Lanzarote has a great public bus service which will get you to the popular resorts and places around the island. However, taxis are plentiful or you can take advantage of the many car hire facilities.
