The first organized tourism groups came in 1890 from the areas of today's Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The beach of Utjeha in the bay Uvala Maslina is 800 m long and consists of white pebbles. From the depths of the sea fresh water wells up and mixes with the salty seawater to give unusual, light turquoise tones. The beach area is touristically developed and has restaurants, cafes and food stalls. As usual in Montenegro, the beach is public and use is free. The beach of Utjeha is one of 19 Montenegrin beaches awarded the Blue Flag.
Apartments and houses are grouped around the bay, which are often used by the owners in the summer months themselves. Large hotel complexes are not available. In contrast to other coastal towns such as Budva or Petrovac, the area is rather quiet.
Also striking for the place is the proximity of the more than 1500 m high Rumija Mountains , whose foothills extend well visible east of the village. The name owes to the name Uvala Maslina the numerous olive groves that stretch from the beach far into the hinterland.
